Genevieve Katherine Neill ~ Nashville Newborn Photographer

I'm proud to introduce my adorable little niece Genevieve Katherine. She was 4 days old when I took the photos and she turned a week old yesterday! Although I don't have that much experience with newborns {in real life much less from behind the camera}- I still had a great time capturing a few memories of her as a teeny-tiny baby for the family to cherish!

If you or someone you know is expecting... I have a fantastic special on Newborn Sessioins while I strengthen my portfolio! contact me at julie@peachblossomphotography.net for details!

Cheers,

Jessica + Tarry's Southern Charm Wedding - Savannah Wedding Photographer

Jessica is probably the funniest person I have ever meet - seriously. Between creeping her blog and our few conversations - I never stop laughing. I can definitely see how Tarry is the jelly to her peanut butter.

The day had started out with a minor issue of trying to fix the zipper on Jess's dress... Once we got her sewed into it, it was game on! Jessica and Tarry's ceremony was at the Whitefield Chapel located on the grounds of the Bethesda Boys School. The campus is full of large oaks and Spanish moss giving it an Old South feeling. The dinner reception was held at The Lady and Sons. I am going to have to remind myself to ask Jessica if she is a Paula Deen fan... For those that may not know, Paula was married at Whitefield in 1965 and she opened The Lady & Sons restaurant in 1996. The food at the reception did live up to all hype.

Congrats to the newlyweds - Thank You for letting me be a party of your special day!

If you would like to see more from Jessica and Tarry's special day... please view the slideshow!

It's 1:30am so I think I will go to bed before I continue editing more and more.... but first, can't forget the after party at Rocks on the Roof!

Family Trip to Dahlonega

Last weekend my mom and cousin Breanna drove up from Florida to spend some time with me and Brent. The decision to drive up was a bit spontaneous but if you know me - my doors are always open! Sunday, we took them to Dahlonega to experience the Smith House, Fudge Factory, and a little antiqueing before finishing the day with a small tour of the North Georgia Mountains! Of course the camera came with us....

How Cool is this I Love Lucy chocolate machine?

Antiqueing to my family is like treasure hunting. Since I was a little girl, we have been stopping at antique shops everywhere we go to see what wonders we can find. Breanna was fascinated by all the hats....

We pulled over into someone's driveway to snap the last picture!

My favorite part of the trip besides having my family to spend the day with.... these awesome boots I scored from the Branding Iron on the Square!

"She's gone country, look at them boots. She's gone country, back to her roots."

Unique Unity Ceremony Ideas ~ Atlanta Wedding Photographer

I will start by saying there are no written rules for what all should be included in your ceremony. Some brides want a traditional mass and others want to just say I DO and party. As a wedding photographer, I’ve seen just about everything…and anything goes! The purpose of this post is just to give you some ideas outside of the “traditional unity ceremony.” The unity candle ceremony dates back to the 1930’s and was very popular in the 80’s and 90’s but today’s brides are coming up with unique ways to replace this ceremony on their wedding day. Below are 3 unique ceremony rituals I’ve witnessed and loved!

The Foot Washing Ceremony

Now, I know just by reading the title you are all thinking – Why in the world is this crazy lady talking about washing feet in the middle of a wedding ceremony? However after having witnessed this recently at an outdoor wedding, I just couldn’t wait to share this wonderful ceremony idea. I was moved to tears by the power of the message. The ceremony stems from the Bible where Jesus washed his disciples feet. (John 13:1-17). This ceremony is to symbolize the servitude that the couple is promising... they will serve each other selflessly as Jesus did. How awesome is that?

God’s Knot – Cord of 3 strands

The Cord of 3 strands is a ceremony based on the Bible verse Ecclesiastes 4:12 "And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a three-fold cord is not quickly broken." (KJV) The couple will braid 3 brightly colored strands together to symbolize the unity of God, husband, and wife in their marriage. Click here for suggested readings.

Unity Sand Ceremony

The Unity Sand Ceremony is probably the most common addition to wedding ceremony’s these days. Brent and I included the sand ceremony in our beach wedding this past April. The bride and groom each have colored sand in separate vases that represents their individual lives and families. At the right moment in the ceremony, the bride and groom will take turns pouring the sand into third vessel that represents their lives together.

Here is the passage I used for my sand ceremony:

_______________ and ______________, today you join your separate lives together. The two separate vessels of sand symbolize your separate lives, separate families and separate sets of friends. They represent all that you are and all that you'll ever be as an individual. They also represent your lives before today. As these two vessels of sand are poured into the third vessel, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will your marriage be.

Other ideas include Unity Cross Ceremony, Hand Fasting Ceremony, Salt Covenant, Rose Ceremony, and the Wine Ceremony. Click here for details. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box, maybe you can come up with your own ceremony!

Amy & John's Backyard Wedding ~ Montgomery Wedding Photographer

I LOVE backyard, DIY, Tent weddings... they are always so much fun! Amy and John's wedding was held at Amy's grandmother's house. The decor consisted of lovely yellow and white flowers in mason jars and chalk boards. In lieu of a traditional cake, they served homemade caramel cake and banana pudding! Their wedding was what every backyard wedding should be ...fun and full of love!

Best wishes to the couple.

Everyone party down....
